Debra Schoenberg has been designated as a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State of California Board of Legal Specialization.
The State certifies attorneys as specialists who have gone beyond the standard licensing requirements. California Rule of Court 9.35 served as the basis for the creation of the State Legal Specialization program. The program was intended to provide a method for attorneys to earn the designation of certified specialist in particular areas of law, increasing public protection and encouraging attorney competence. The program was the first of its kind in the United States, and it has served as a model for other state programs for certifying legal specialists around the nation. Attorneys who receive this designation must first sit for a rigorous exam in their area of specialty in addition to a thorough vetting process.
Debra Schoenberg is a Board-Certified Family Law Trial Specialist by The National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA).
The NTBA is accredited by the American Bar Association to certify lawyers in the specialty areas of civil trial law, criminal trial law, family trial law, civil practice law and social security disability law. The process of becoming a Certified Specialist through NBTA requires a rigorous examination and vetting process to ensure that the applicant meets the highest levels of competency and professionalism.
