“There are several compelling reasons to engage a private judge for a family law case. The most common, particularly for couples involved in high-profile or high-asset divorces, is that choosing an experienced private judge can help keep many personal and financial details of the divorce out of the public record. Although we tend to hear about private judges, mostly in the rich and famous divorce cases, you don’t have to be a movie star to go this route. Technically, anyone can hire a private judge for their family law case, but there are many factors to consider in practice.”
