Matthew R. Bogosian

Matthew R. Bogosian is Certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and has been practicing family law exclusively for over a quarter of a century.

Mr. Bogosian earned his Bachelor of Arts with Departmental Honors in Linguistics from the University of California at Los Angeles where he graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honorary society for outstanding achievement in liberal arts.

Additionally, Mr. Bogosian earned both a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California, where he excelled in Family Law, Advanced Family Law, Community Property and Divorce Mediation and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Negotiation.

During law school, Mr. Bogosian clerked for Family Law Commissioner Bobbi Tillmon of the Los Angeles Superior Court and volunteered at the Ventura County Superior Court Family Law Pro Bono Clinic assisting unrepresented parties with marital dissolution and paternity matters.

Having practiced at the highest levels of family law at both the trial court and appellate levels since 1999, Mr. Bogosian has appeared in courts from San Francisco to San Diego and has represented clients from Tokyo to Dubai.

Mr. Bogosian has served as an Adjunct Professor of Negotiation at the Dale E. Fowler School of Law at Chapman University in Orange, California, and as an Adjunct Professor of Mediation at Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California, and at Western State College of Law in Irvine, California.

In addition to being a passionate advocate in the courtroom and in the classroom, Mr. Bogosian’s extensive dispute resolution training and experience also enables him to resolve complex disputes through negotiation and mediation, customizing results to meet the client’s individual needs, mitigating the risk and uncertainty of trial, and saving substantial time and money.

The son of award-winning jewelry designer Michael B., Mr. Bogosian holds a Certificate in Diamond Essentials from the world-renowned Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California, and is an expert in jewelry design, analysis and appraisal.

As a child of divorce and as someone who has experienced both parenthood and divorce firsthand, Mr. Bogosian provides clients not only with legal expertise but also with empathy and compassion.
